Happy National Funeral Director & Mortician Recognition Day From Tribute Technology

December 1, 2022

This week was the National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day, an important occasion for us here at Tribute Technology While it is pretty awesome that an entire day is dedicated to celebrating the lovely men, women and families that sacrifice their lives to help others, we like to show our appreciation all year-round. So, we have decided to put together a short video thanking funeral directors for all that they do and showing our appreciation.

Getting a chance to work closely with so many funeral homes across North America and the world is a true blessing. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank each and every funeral director for their service to families, role in their communities and helping to make our world a better, more caring place. In addition to the video, we thought it would be a good idea to share a few more things we love about funeral directors and say some more thank you’s. if you have something wonderful to share about being a funeral director or about a funeral director in your community, let’s keep it going in the comments below.

Thank you for…

Being Available 24/7

No matter what, you can count on a funeral director to be there whenever they are needed. And for families that do require their services, it is a wonderful thing to know that they will be there during difficult times to help.

Working Holidays

When everyone else sets aside time to take a break from it all, funeral directors get up and put their work suit on. It is a unique thing to be needed constantly. I mean Superman became famous for not taking holidays, but funeral directors don’t either. It’s true what they say, not all heroes wear capes.

Long Nights and Short Weekends

Much like holidays, when everyone else is done their work day or finishing up their week, funeral directors are ready and willing to step up to the plate for their communities. There is no such thing as a guaranteed night off or long-weekend. And for that, funeral directors deserve a big round of applause.

Missing Out On Your Own Family’s Events To Be There For Others

One of the most selfless and admirable parts of a funeral director’s job, is to set aside their own family to be there for others. It is definitely something worth celebrating that there is a group of people ready to sacrifice their own family time to provide much-needed services.

Being Integral Parts Of Your Communities

Whether it is hosting community gatherings, donating to charity, volunteering time or any other form of contribution, we work with funeral homes who do truly amazing things for their communities and service areas. In addition, we hear from community members all the time how much they have been positively impacted by the funeral home near them. Keep up the great work.

Inspiring Us and Making What We Do Worth it

Last but not least we must thank you for inspiring us, here at Tribute Technology, to do what we do each and every day. Without hard-working funeral directors, our job would not be nearly as rewarding. Knowing that we help funeral directors in turn help the families makes every day worth it.

Please continue spreading the love for funeral directors by commenting below. You are invited to share some stories, thanks or kind messages on our Facebook page as well. Once again, from all of us at Tribute Technology, thank you funeral directors. Give yourselves a pat on the back for all you do.

Obituaries receive five times more traffic than other pages, with some funeral homes seeing up to 80% of their total website visits coming from these listings. But these visits are more than just numbers—they represent real families in your community. 60% of obituary visitors live within 25 miles of your funeral home, and 65% are in the same state. These are local families, many of whom will need funeral services in the future.

By expanding memorialization beyond traditional formats, this exclusive partnership provides a meaningful and far-reaching way to celebrate life, reinforcing the role of funeral homes as trusted partners in remembrance. "With fewer newspapers available, families have lost a way to share news of a death with the entire community and tell the story of their loved one through the obituary. Online obituaries are important as the home of condolences, but it's only useful if the public knows that the death has occurred,” said Courtney Gould Miller, president of commercial markets at Tribute Technology. “Tribute Spotlights broadcasts the deaths in the community and the event information, reminding the public of the value of commemorating lives lived and increasing attendance at the funeral." Funeral homes and families alike benefit from Tribute Spotlights. For funeral professionals, the service offers a seamless way to enhance their offerings without adding additional work. Each Tribute Spotlight prominently features the funeral home’s branding, reinforcing its role in honoring lives and strengthening its presence in the community. By airing twice daily for up to 10 days, these digital tributes are not just told, but shared far and wide, helping to inform communities of upcoming services and ensuring loved ones are honored with dignity and respect. For families, Tribute Spotlights provide a new and deeply personal way to memorialize those they have lost. Televised tributes allow for a visually compelling and shareable way to tell a loved one’s story. Families receive a lasting digital keepsake that can be revisited and shared, ensuring memories are preserved for future generations. The visibility of these broadcasts also encourages greater community support, increasing attendance at services and allowing more people to come together to celebrate a life well lived. With a simple and stress-free process, families can create a meaningful tribute without the burden of additional planning. “At Chptr, we believe stories should live forever,” said Rehan Choudhry, CEO and founder of Chptr. “This partnership allows families to share their loved one’s memory in a way that transcends time—through television, digital platforms, and the collective memory of their community.” Local television remains a trusted and widely watched source of community information. By featuring these televised tributes, stations can engage viewers with meaningful, locally relevant content while generating advertising opportunities that support their operations. Tribute Spotlights also creates a new revenue stream for local TV stations, providing valuable human-centered content that resonates with their audiences.
